A lifelong Californian, Luca MacDougall was born and raised in San Luis Obispo. Growing up on the Central Coast, Luca’s work is heavily inspired by the region's beauty, drawing upon images of surfers with sunkissed skin, hikers with a healthy glow, and bohemians with effortless style. After graduating high school, Luca left their small town for the University of California, Los Angeles. Although they enjoyed their studies, the two year period of online school caused by the COVID-19 pandemic gave Luca the opportunity to devote more time to their makeup skills. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs, Luca attended Makeup Designory in Burbank where they were able to learn directly from some of the industry’s best artists. While taking classes, Luca began taking on clients and working on fashion shows and student films. These experiences have proven essential in establishing a professional presence that will persist in the industry for decades to come. As their career progresses, Luca intends to be at the cutting edge of beauty, creating breathtaking looks that run the gamut from subtle and demure to dramatic and glamorous.
